Company description::
Chicago, IL and Redmond, WA – March 8, 2004 – Altima Technologies, Inc. a Microsoft ® Solution Provider, and Microsoft Corp. announced today a special deal for retail customers who purchase either upgrade or full versions of Microsoft Office Visio ® Professional 2003 between March 8, 2004, and June 30, 2004, to obtain a promotional version of Altima's NetZoom Stencils for $18.95 (U.S.) (plus S&H) as part of Microsoft's resource kit for IT professionals; Altima's NetZoom Stencils product is normally sold for $299 (U.S.), so this represents a net savings of $279 (U.S. retail).
Altima's promotional NetZoom offering includes over 28,000 manufacturer-specific equipment shapes from nearly 600 of the most sought after computer, network, telecommunications and Audio/Video equipment manufacturers. In addition, the IT Upgrade campaign offers Visio customers the opportunity to stay current with the NetZoom Stencil Library by purchasing a NetZoom Stencils subscription at a special renewal price for stencil updates and free unlimited shape requests.
Altima's NetZoom Stencils is the largest collection of Visio Stencils, comprising over 60,000 equipment shapes, to help design and diagram networks in Microsoft Office Visio 2003. NetZoom Stencils contains manufacturer-specific equipment shapes from over 2,000 popular computer, network, telecommunications and Audio/Video equipment manufacturers in areas such as hubs, switches, wireless, UPS/power supplies, security, Internet, storage, racks and infrastructure.
“With Visio being the most popular diagramming application among IT Professionals around the world and NetZoom Stencils the most favorite library of networking stencils, this package creates a complete solution for network integrators, consultants and administrators,” said Sara Clark, President of Altima. “More than 80% of NetZoom users rely on Microsoft Visio for their diagramming needs. Since the cancellation of Network Tools Center by Microsoft, these users have been demanding NetZoom Stencils and Visio from the same source. We feel that NetZoom Stencils is a compelling value-add to Visio, and the combined marketing effort of the Visio 2003 Upgrade Promotion will be a vast success.”

“We are excited to be able to offer Altima's extensive stencil library to IT professionals as part of our resource kit,” said Richard Wolf, general manager of Microsoft Office Visio at Microsoft. “Together with Visio 2003 and Fluke's LAN MapShot offering, Altima's NetZoom product will provide IT administrators with a robust solution for documenting and managing their IT infrastructures.”

Altima has pioneered, perfected and automated the development of shapes for the new equipment that is introduced to the market on a daily basis and remains committed to maintaining the largest collection of networking stencils for Visio. All subscribers and hardware manufacturers are invited to submit requests for free shape development.
