US ATM MANUFACTURER, TRITON, PASSES EMV TESTING FIRST TIME USING CREDITCALL'S EMV TOOLKIT
CreditCall, EMV (Chip and PIN) software specialist, announced today another ATM design win - US ATM manufacturer Triton, has integrated CreditCall's EMV.LIB software, and gained EMV certification for its cash dispensers worldwide. CreditCall's EMV.LIB software provided Triton with a simple method of adding EMV Level 2 functionality to its existing worldwide base of ATM units.
Triton manufactures both stand-alone ATMs, which typically appear in convenience stores, as well as through-the-wall style cash machines. With a large installed base of ATM's in countries migrating to EMV it was critical that they could all be upgraded quickly and easily. As the machines were already fitted with EMV Level 1 compliant card readers, the flexibility offered by EMV.LIB, (the ANSI C version of CreditCall's EMV Level 2 Kernel), meant that the upgrade could be completed without the need for modifications to the machine's hardware.
CreditCall's EMV.LIB has been designed specifically to enable proprietary systems to be upgraded to include EMV functionality quickly and easily - it was developed in an ANSI C environment and uses an architecture that abstracts away the hardware specific function calls. This has enabled CreditCall to create a truly portable product that can enable any device with sufficient processing power to have EMV functionality added to its specification.
Jeremy Gumbley, CreditCall's Director of Development, said: "The fact that Triton has passed its EMV approval testing first time with no errors, is outstanding news for all involved in the project. EMV certification requires that a vast number of stringent tests are passed and there is now a scarcity of testing slots available. Since CreditCall's EMV toolkits are pre-tested, they are enabling companies to minimise the risk of failing EMV certification and shorten the time taken to achieve full EMV compliance."
