Company description::
London, 18 February 2003 - William Fry, one of Ireland’s most highly respected law firms, will be one of the first law firms in Ireland to deploy a true knowledge management system with the introduction of the Solcara Client-Partner solution. This forms part of William Fry’s ongoing programme to improve knowledge sharing and information access across the organisation thus enabling it to add more value to the services it provides to its clients.

Solcara Client-Partner enables law firms of all sizes to more effectively manage, share and use valuable content and knowledge. It encapsulates many years experience of working with a number of leading UK based law firms and addresses the issues that are critical to maintaining a competitive edge. This innovative knowledge management solution transforms the way in which law firms access content and knowledge by providing seamless integration of internal and online information sources.

Solcara, project managing the deployment, will interface with the library management system, Konduct, from Bailey Solutions and the Granite & Comfrey Know How database from Tikit. The Solcara Client-Partner application will initially be deployed for 200 users and will be accessed using a standard web browser. Each practice area within William Fry will be provided with a home page that uses a common format but where the content presented is personalised to the specific needs of each practice area. The solution will support easy access to more than 30 online information resources, directly from the homepage for each practice area. The tool used for this search function will be Solcara’s Solsearch application.

Brendan Cahill at William Fry commented: As one of Ireland’s leading law firms, we have over 20 practice area specialisation’s and that translates into a lot of content and information being produced. In order to provide our clients with a top quality service we wanted to electronically capture and make that content more easily accessible and searched across the entire organisation. Solcara’s flexibility and unrivalled experience in the legal sector was proof that it could deliver exactly the solution we were looking for.”
Ranked by Thomson Financial as the number one firm in the Irish mergers and acquisitions market, William Fry is leading the way in deploying innovative technology solutions to improve the service it offers to its clients.

Brendan Cahill continued: “In addition to improved client service, the solution will increase fee earner time on billable activities, reduce costs by providing easier access to critical information; empower junior staff to take on more responsibility and add more value to the firm, and improve individual productivity by personalising content and information delivery.”
Charlie O’Rourke at Solcara said: “William Fry is an extremely prestigious win for Solcara, its reputation is second to none in the legal sector. Our list of references in the legal sector has been significantly strengthened by this latest addition. William Fry’s selection of Solcara is indicative of the strength of both our technology and service offerings and credit goes out to all those involved in making this deal a success.”
